New HSSEQ software ahead!

We have decided to start using UniSea as platform for our new HSSEQ system. This week Vebjørn and Ola have been in Skudeneshavn visiting UniSea for the initial workshop.

Safety management

All shipping companies are required to have a system for managing procedures, checklists, risk management and other documentation. In addition, such system shall also include non-conformance handling both for shore and vessels. The intention behind the system is to ensure that safety and quality is kept at high standards througout the organization, and that we are able to generate continous improvements of our business.

Comprehensive process

It is a comprehensive process to set up and implement a system like this both onboard and in office. Thousands of pages with different documentation shall be meticulous revivewed and arranged in order to both be relevant for our company whilst at the same time comply to all applicable regulations. Although the maritime regulations for the most parts are similar for all ship operators, regardless of size, the layout and content varies significantly companies inbetween. Hence it is important that we shape it to fit our business and activities to succeed getting a positive safety culture. Ola is originally Motorman onboard the Simon Princess and on leave until next week, but joined the workshop to assist with his hands-on experience.
